LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The 2017-18 Covenant women's basketball schedule has been finalized, announced fifth-year head coach Sarah Harris recently. The Scots will play 24 regular season contests, with 12 of those taking place inside Barnes PE Center.
The season tips off at home on Wednesday, Nov. 15 against region foe Sewanee at 7:30 p.m. Covenant will play five of its first seven games at home, capped by a matchup with Belhaven on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 5 p.m.

USA South play opens up on Friday, Dec. 1 as the Scots welcome league newcomer Berea to Barnes PE Center. Covenant will play each of its West Division foes twice during the regular season. The division now includes Covenant along with Agnes Scott, Berea, Brevard, Huntingdon, LaGrange, Maryville, Piedmont and Wesleyan. The games against Brevard will not count towards the league standings as the institution reclassifies to NCAA Division III.
Within conference play, the Scots will host the defending USA South Tournament champions in Piedmont on Jan. 9 followed by a home tilt with Maryville, the reigning regular season division champion, on Jan. 16.
The USA South Tournament will begin on Feb. 14 with seeds 3-4 in each division hosting a first round game. The quarterfinal round games will be at the top two seeds in each division on Feb. 17, while the semifinals and championship will be at the highest remaining seed on Feb. 23-24.
- Berea is the lone new opponent on the schedule. The two programs have never played each other.
- The Scots will play Brevard for the first time since 2006 when both were members of the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Brevard is 10-3 against Covenant.
- Emory will make its first visit to Lookout Mountain since 2011.
